Volume ran at twice its recent average or more. Volume alone has no direction, which is why this pairs naturally with a price condition; a surge on a down bar means the opposite of one on an up bar. Results are limited to tickers with real volume; an illiquid name matching a screen is not a tradeable idea.

How this screen is evaluated
Every ticker is checked on its last closed bar, so a match cannot appear mid-session and disappear at the close. Tickers without enough history to compute the condition are excluded rather than counted as non-matching — a screen needing a 200-period average simply skips a symbol that has traded for fifty days.
